• Course Description:

    This course is particularly designed to teach the students knowledge of English for specific purposes (ESP) in Anthropology. This course comprises on giving four skills of English (Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing) but dominantly giving on reading as receptive skill and speaking and writing as productive skill. It provides some materials in Anthropology especially Tourism, Media and Culture.

     

    Course Objective(s):

    By the end of this course, students are expected to read ethnography texts and producing ethnography essay in English. In addition, the students are able to breeze to access the English references.

    1. Course Description                     : This is the initial reading course with focuses on word attack skills and vocabulary development. This course emphasis on clauses and sentences of short text focused on vocabulary building. Coursework includes on fundamental word analysis skills of synonym, antonym, multiple meaning words, word history, word formation, idiom, analogies, homonym, pronunciation and fundamental reading comprehension skills. The activities conducted in this course include lecture and small group discussion.

     

    1. II.                Course Objective(s)                     : By the end of this course, the students will be able to utilize word attack skills and enrich their vocabulary. Furthermore, they are also able to unlock words meaning by utilizing the contextual clues within clauses and sentences receptively and productively.
